The National Child Care Information Center (NCCIC), a project of the Child Care Bureau, is a national resource that links information and people to complement, enhance, and promote the child care delivery system, with a searchable database of state demographics, program usage, and licensing regulations.

Smart Start National Technical Assistance Center
Smart Start's National Technical Assistance Center is available to assist communities and states in the development, implementation and integration of comprehensive community-based early childhood initiatives.

Child Care Aware (National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies)
This initiative helps parents find quality child care and child care resources in their communities.

Community Investment Collaborative for Kids (Local Initiative Support Coalition (LISC)
This initiative by a national community development intermediary works to finance, plan, and develop new child care facilities. It also provides training and technical assistance to providers in real estate development practices and finance skills.

The Finance Project

National Association for the Education of Young Children
This is "the nation's largest and most influential organization of early childhood educators and others dedicated to improving the quality of programs for children from birth through third grade." NAEYC conducts advocacy and provides accreditation and professional development services for members.

National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA)
NACCRRA conducts public policy advocacy and provides technical assistance and resources to child care resource and referral agencies.

National Child Care Bureau (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services)
The Bureau administers federal funding for Department of Social Services subsidies and runs a child care technical assistance network.

National Center for Early Development & Learning
A research project run by the U. of N. Carolina, Chapel-Hill, in conjunction with UCLA and The University of Virginia, conducts research on critical issues in early childhood care and education and disseminates information to policy audiences.

National Network for Child Care (NNCC) (Cooperative Extension)
Run by Cooperative Extension, provides an extensive Internet bibliography of over 1000 child-care related publications and resources. It also provides contacts to child care experts in every state.

Public Agenda Online
Public Agenda provides a thorough analysis of public opinion on child care issues and on the public sector's appropriate role. It also has a useful "sources and resources" section.
