Caltrans and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo, Local Investment in Child Care (2008). Child Care and Transit: Making the Link in California Transit.

The study looks at child care centers in California near public transit stations to identify the factors that influence transit use by parents. It suggests ways that child care location can increase transit use and expand transportation choices for working families. Local Investment in Child Care (LINCC) did the research in partnership with 4Cs of San Mateo County. Funding was provided by the California State Department of Transportation (Caltrans) through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). Results are based on a survey of 781 parents at 19 transit oriented child care centers throughout California, interviews with 22 child care center directors, and interviews with local transportation agencies and government officials.
