Additional Information
In a recent national study researchers at Cornell University found that increased direct spending for early childhood education services generates more total sales and employment than increases in any other major sector in Pennsylvania. Cornell's analysis also showed that Pennsylvania ranked highest amongst all states in the amount of economic impact that is stimulated through public investment in early childhood education. The updated flyer (see above) includes Pennsylvania's investment in early childhood education by county in 2008-2009 and the economic multiplier effect of that investment. In 2008-2009, Pennsylvania's investment in early childhood education resulted in more than $1.8 billion being circulated in the regional economy.
